Gabe Andino
Noise Abatement & Environmental Compliance, Teterboro Airports
Gabriel Andino is the Manager of Noise Abatement and Environmental Compliance for AvPORTS at Teterboro Airport. He currently leads the development and operations of this department, including monitoring airport user compliance with local noise policies and leading outreach efforts to local communities, elected officials and airport users. Gabriel is also the Airports chair of the National Business Aviation Association Access Committee, which focuses on maintaining and enhancing business aviation access to the National Airspace System.
He received a BS in Aviation Management from Southern Illinois University and an MBA the Keller Graduate School of Business.

Jose Alonso
Acoustic Specialist, Collins Aerospace
Dr. Jose Alonso, Principal Engineer, Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Virginia Tech
Jose Alonso counts with over 15 years of experience in the nacelle acoustics field, and has served as a principal investigator for various noise reduction technologies and development of analytical models.
Currently, Jose leads the Collins Aerospace CLEEN II program focusing on segmented liner technologies for compact thrust reverser structures. During the past few years, he has progressed novel technologies focused on enhancing noise attenuation with reduced panel thickness in order to enable packaging and slim loft lines. His work includes the design and testing of these technologies as well as the development of the analytical tools and methods to support the design. In addition, Jose leads the A320neo Acoustics Working Group responsible for implementation of liner specifications into the nacelle system.
Jose is one of the co-authors of 11 technical publications, including articles in the Journal of Sound and Vibration, AIAA Journal, and the ASME Journal of Vibrations and Acoustics. Jose holds 2 patents on acoustic liner technologies.
Jose is a member of the Aeroacoustics Technical Committee (AATC) for the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). In addition, he is a member of Aircraft Noise and Engine Emissions Committee (ANEEC) under the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA)
Elena Austin
Assistant Professor, University of Washington
Austin has a background in exposure assessment and epidemiology and as well as strong statistical skills. One of her main research interests is developing methods and strategies for collecting and analyzing complex multipollutant exposure data. Her doctoral thesis focused on the development of novel methods to identify the association between multipollutant exposure profiles and health effects using cluster analysis techniques.
Her current research at the University of Washington revolves around the analysis and interpretation of air pollution data collected using low-cost sensors and mobile monitoring platforms. She performs statistical analyses, data visualizations, and GIS visualizations and manipulations in R.
In the future, Austin aims to continue developing methods to jointly investigate exposures to mixtures of pollutants on human health, continue her work developing novel and low-cost methods to assess exposures to airborne pollutants and further investigate effects of emerging contaminants and mixtures on community health, with a particular focus on under-studied populations.

Jonathan Bagg
Senior Manager of Stakeholder and Industry Relations, NavCanada
Jonathan Bagg is the Senior Manager of Stakeholder and Industry Relations at NAV CANADA, Canada’s private, not-for-profit Air Navigation Services Provider. In his role, he is responsible for engaging a wide range of industry and community stakeholders in the implementation of major company initiatives that are driving system efficiency, resiliency and a reduction in environmental impacts. This includes overseeing stakeholder engagement and consultation and supporting policy development in regards to major airspace change projects. His team works closely with operational deployment teams and airport authorities, planning and executing community and stakeholder engagement strategies, consulting communities groups, elected officials and industry partners on the deployment of Performance Based Navigation, noise mitigation and flight path changes prior to their implementation.

Mathias Basner
Associate Professor, University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine
Mathias Basner, MD, PhD, MSc is Associate Professor of Sleep and Chronobiology in Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. Dr. Basner received his degree in Medicine and his Ph.D. in Research from the University of Bochum, Germany, and his Master of Science in Epidemiology degree from the University of Bielefeld, Germany. Dr. Basner trained at the Institute for Applied Physiology at the University of Bochum and worked as a Research Associate at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), Institute of Aerospace Medicine from 1999 until 2009, where he headed the Flight Physiology Division in 2008 and 2009. In January 2010, Dr. Basner was recruited to the University of Pennsylvania to assume the position of Assistant Professor of Sleep and Chronobiology in Psychiatry. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2015.
Dr. Basner's primary research interests concern the effects of traffic noise on sleep and health, the effects of sleep loss on neurobehavioral functions, population studies on sleep time and waking activities, and the effects of long-duration space missions on astronaut behavioral health. Dr. Basner conducted several large scale laboratory and field studies on the effects of traffic noise on sleep since 1999. For this research, Dr. Basner was awarded the Science Award of the German Aerospace Center in 2007 and the Science Award of the German Academy for Aviation and Travel Medicine in 2010.
Dr. Basner is currently President of the International Commission of Biological Effects of Noise (ICBEN). He is advisor to the World Health Organization (WHO) concerning traffic noise effects on sleep, and member of the Impacts and Science Group (ISG) of the Committee on Aviation Environmental Protection (CAEP) of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). Dr. Basner is a member of the Sleep Research Society (SRS), the Aerospace Medical Association (AsMA), and member of the International Academy of Astronautics (IAA). He is Associate Editor of the journal Sleep Health and an editorial board member of the journal Frontiers in Physiology. He has reviewed articles for >85 scientific journals.

Sara Bogdan
Manager Sustainability and Environmental Social Governance, JetBlue
Sara started in the field as a researcher of climate change impacts. Looking to where she could personally make the greatest impact, she moved her career toward business sustainability, recognizing the significant opportunity to work within an organization to identify initiatives both good for the environment and company.
Sara currently helps manage JetBlue's sustainability program, leading multiple operational projects that reduce fuel and waste output, and better prepare the organization for a changing and resource-constrained world. Specifically, she leads the airline’s carbon neutrality execution, conversion to electric ground service equipment, aircraft fuel savings initiatives, and onboard waste and sustainable product management.
Sara was selected as one of GreenBiz's 2016 "30 under 30 - Emerging Sustainability Leaders" winners. She previously led the sustainability program for a system of hospitals and clinics based out of California, where the system was recognized as top 10% of hospitals nationwide in sustainability. She graduated with a BA in Environmental Earth Science from the University of California at Berkeley and a Master’s of Environmental Management (MEM) from Duke University.
Megan Boutwell
Vice President of Operations, Stillwater Associates
As Stillwater’s Vice President of Operations, Megan Boutwell is responsible for promoting Stillwater Associates as the leading experts on transportation fuels issues. As Senior Editor of Stillwater publications and Stillwater’s LCFS Newsletter, Megan is responsible for developing and editing content on a wide range of transportation energy issues including policy and renewable energy markets. As the influence of California's LCFS on developing renewable fuel markets grows, Megan has been particularly focused on emerging technologies including sustainable aviation fuel.
Megan has a BA in French and English Literature from Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia and an MBA from the University of Oregon. She lives in Portland, Oregon

Rachel Burbidge
Senior Policy Officer, EUROCONTROL
Rachel Burbidge joined EUROCONTROL in 2005. She has been leading EUROCONTROL’s work on climate change adaptation and resilience since 2009, authoring the organisation’s ground-breaking Challenges of Growth work on Climate Adaptation, and several peer-reviewed journal articles. She leads EUROCONTROL’s contribution to the ICAO CAEP Working Group on CORSIA, where she manages tasks on MRV, and is also a member of ICAO CAEP Working Groups on Impacts and Science and Airport and Operations, where she leads the work on climate adaptation. She has degrees in Environmental Studies and Sustainable Development, and is currently a doctoral student at Manchester Metropolitan University.

Scott Burgess
President, Eco-Aviation Foundation
Scott Burgess is the President and Co-Founder of the Eco-Aviation Foundation International. The Foundation’s focus is to promote early-adoption of the newest electric, hybrid and other low-to-zero emissions aviation technologies – including sustainable airport infrastructure. Additionally, the Foundation works with local airport communities in organizing programs and events to bring a new, “eco” message to their adjacent neighborhoods.
The Foundation publishes its Eco-Aviation “Newscenter”, which contains articles curated daily from sources worldwide related to anything eco in aviation. To follow, the Foundation sends out a weekly “Newscenter Update” email containing a digest of the last week’s news and events in eco aviation. Other projects and initiatives of the Foundation include: eco aviation case studies, educational programs and scholarships, curating “future of flight” museum exhibits, organizing eco aviation events, aviation job and education fairs, an annual eco aviation expo, as well as others.
Throughout his career, Scott has managed aviation projects in the U.S., UAE/Dubai, Afghanistan, Malta, Africa and others, which has given him a broad perspective of the strong positive impact the eco future of aviation brings: green, quiet and much lower operating costs.

Robyn Connelly
Director, Community Relations, Greater Toronto Airport Authority
Robyn Connelly is a communications expert with 18 years’ experience spanning government, local public bodies, rail and aviation sectors. She is currently the Director for Community Relations at Toronto Pearson International Airport, a role she has held for five years. Robyn chairs the airport’s Noise Forums, which provides a forum where the GTAA, Nav Canada, Transport Canada, locally elected officials and community representatives can engage, share knowledge and experiences, debate initiatives and ask questions. Robyn uses her experience and capability as a community relations leader and strategic communicator to connect people to information and opportunities and to build lasting partnerships for the good of local Toronto communities and wider society.

Chris Dorbian
General Engineer, Federal Aviation Administration
Chris is a General Engineer with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in the Office of Environment and Energy (AEE). He manages AEE’s research program to identify and accelerate the implementation of operational concepts that will reduce aviation environmental impacts and/or improve energy efficiency. He is also a program engineer on the Continuous Lower Energy, Emissions, and Noise (CLEEN) Program, FAA’s principal environmental effort to accelerate the development of new aircraft and engine technologies and advance sustainable alternative jet fuels. Since joining the FAA in 2013, Chris has had extensive experience in formulating and managing multidisciplinary research, engineering, and development projects as well as conducting simulations, modeling, and analysis to
address technical problems in aviation. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University and a Master of Science degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Mary Eagan
President, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors, HMMH
As President, CEO, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of HMMH, Mary Ellen is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the company and management to establish long-term goals, strategies, plans, and policies. Ms. Eagan became HMMH’s third President in July 2004 and was appointed CEO and Chairman in 2012.
In addition to her corporate responsibilities, Ms. Eagan is principal-in-charge for some of the firm's most challenging projects, including noise studies for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and on-call consulting at a number of airports, including Boston-Logan and Los Angeles International.
Ms. Eagan is very active in the industry, and is frequently recruited to speak on emerging airport noise issues at conferences in the US and internationally. Her leadership positions have included serving as Chair of the Transportation Research Board's Aviation Group, and the Airport Consultants Council. She is also actively involved with Airports Council International, currently serving as vice-chair of the Noise Working Group and a Business Partner to the ACI World Environment Standing Committee.

Terry English
Environmental Protection Specialist, Federal Aviation Administration
Ms. Terry English is an environmental protection specialist in the FAA’s Office of the Environment and Energy (AEE). Currently, she is the team lead for the FAA’s Noise Complaint Initiative (NCI), which is an agency-wide effort to improve internal processes and communications with the public and airport sponsors on aircraft noise complaints or inquiries. She has 35 years of experience as an environmental professional working as a senior environmental specialist and program manager within the FAA, the Volpe National Transportation Center, the US Army Corps of Engineers and for an environmental consulting firm in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts.

Gordon Ferguson
Airspace Consultation and Stakeholder Engagement Lead, Heathrow Airport
Gordon served for 30 years as a Royal Air Force Air Traffic Control Officer throughout the UK and Middle East in ATC Terminal, En-Route and Assurance roles. Highlights included being the Air Traffic Controller Branch and Trade Lead for maintaining the structural sustainability of the Air Operations operatives. His 3 tours in Iraq and Afghanistan included roles as the airspace specialist in joint UK/US Special Forces and Joint Air Support Operations Centres.
Since joining Heathrow in early 2018, Gordon has been the Airspace Consultation and Stakeholder Engagement Lead for both current (2 runway) operations and future (3 runway) Heathrow expansion. He is responsible for the development and delivery of an effective and influential Airspace consultations and engagement programmes which at its core has an effective, influential and collaborative Stakeholder Engagement programme that aligns the wider Future Heathrow vision. He has overseen the successful delivery and production of consultation and engagement materials for 3 consultation projects in support of the Airspace Change Process for 2 runway and 3 runway operations to align with the UK Civil Aviation Authority airspace design regulations.
Away from work, Gordon is passionate about the sport of Rugby Union with over 20 years’ experience as both a coach and referee – his playing days are far behind him!

Sanford Fidell
Researcher, Fidell Associates, Inc.
Dr. Fidell’s half-century technical career has focused on psychoacoustic research, community noise impact analyses, and aircraft noise consulting. He has directed theoretical, laboratory and field research in many areas of psychoacoustics and environmental acoustics for federal agencies including DoD, DoT, EPA, FAA, and NASA; consulted for state and local governments and airports; published extensively;
and served as an expert witness in airport noise-related litigation. He is a Fellow and Associate Editor of the Acoustical Society of America, and is active in international standardization committee work.

Melinda Franklin
Managing Director, Corporate and Government Affairs, United Airlines
Melinda Yee Franklin is a thought leader and legislative strategist with a sustained track record of successfully enhancing corporate reputation to generate sales revenue and drive business development. She has cultivated a global network of high level corporate, government and civic leaders which enables her to execute on business initiatives. Through her various leadership roles, she has demonstrated strong expertise in corporate governance, risk management, public policy, strategic development, and international affairs.
In 2019, she was named one of the most influential women in Bay Area Business by the San Francisco Business Times. She is the Chair of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce. She is also a past Chair of the San Francisco Travel Association and sits on the boards of the San Francisco Opera, the National Association of Corporate Directors Northern California Chapter, the Hong Kong Association of Northern California, the San Francisco/Shanghai Sister City Committee and the Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation.
Since 2006, she has served as the Managing Director of Corporate and Government Affairs for the Western Region for United Airlines. She is the company’s lead advocate on legislative, corporate, and policy issues related to California, Hawaii, Alaska, Oregon, Arizona, Utah, Nevada, Idaho, and Washington State. She has been the chief corporate strategist on the California Consumer Privacy Act, tax and other critical business issues that impact the aviation industry.
Prior to United, she held senior positions at The Siena Group and Meet World Trade where she advised organizations on strategic investment, marketing, human resources, and business development initiatives.

Truls Gjestland
Senior Researcher, SINTEF
Gjestland is a Senior Research Scientist Emeritus at SINTEF, Norway. He has more than 50 years’ experience in noise research in particular noise annoyance and people's reactions to noise. Gjestland is a member of the International Commission on Biological Effects of Noise. He has chaired its Community response to noise team and is currently chair of its Noise policy team. Gjestland has participated in several EU-funded projects on environmental noise and he is a member of EU's Noise Expert Group. He has also served as temporary advisor to World Health Organization, ICAO, EASA and FAA. Recently Gjestland has published several papers with critical remarks to the new recommendations from WHO regarding annoyance from transportation noise. Gjestland is a Fellow of the Acoustical Society of America and honorary member of The Acoustical Society of Norway and The East-European Acoustics Association.

Kallie Glover
Performance Engineer, Delta Air Lines
Kallie is a Delta Air Lines Performance Engineer in the Operations and Customer Center located in Atlanta, GA. Her primary responsibilities include airport analysis, new station take off and landing data, and noise reduction analysis. Prior to Performance Engineering, she worked in the Cabin Maintenance Engineering group at Delta, working with manufacturers to implement interiors reliability projects. Kallie has a Bachelors degree in Aerospace Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, AZ.

Title: Delta Air Lines’ Efforts in Noise Reduction
Eric Greenwood
Engineer, Pennsylvania State University
Eric Greenwood is an Assistant Professor of Aerospace Engineering at Penn State. Prior to joining the faculty, he was a researcher at the NASA Langley Research Center. He received a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Maryland. Dr. Greenwood conducts theoretical and experimental research to better understand the aerodynamics and acoustics of rotor and propeller driven aircraft. This research includes the development of the theoretical basis and software of the Fundamental Rotorcraft Acoustics Modeling from Experiments (FRAME) technique and the design and execution numerous acoustic flight experiments. One of these experiments, investigating the effects of ambient conditions on rotor noise generation, was awarded a 2016 NASA Group Achievement Award. Dr. Greenwood has also been awarded the 2016 NASA Early Career Achievement Medal and the 2018 François-Xavier Bagnoud award from the Vertical Flight Society.

Gene Holloway
Chief Sustainability Officer, Aerion Supersonic
Mr. Holloway joined Aerion in November 2018. He leads Aerion’s commitment to explore and integrate into its aircraft, as well as its engineering and manufacturing facilities, advanced technologies enabling greater fuel efficiency, reduced emissions, and a minimized carbon footprint corporate-wide.
He has led numerous advanced technology programs over a 45-year career with experience covering advanced concepts development to air vehicle production and testing. His diverse background includes technology commercialization and licensing, joint venture development, industrial participation (offsets), market analysis, and strategic planning.
In addition to his responsibilities as EVP Environment & Sustainability, Gene heads development and certification of the world’s first Boomless Cruise™ system which will enable the Aerion AS2 to cruise at speeds up to Mach 1.2 without a sonic boom reaching the ground.
Prior to Aerion, Gene was a Program Manager/Project Lead at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics – Advanced Development Programs (Skunk Works®), and an Engineering Specialist at Northrop Grumman Corporation. He received an MBA from the Graziadio School of Business and Management at Pepperdine University, a Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering from Auburn University, and is a Certified Professional Manager.

Prof Paul Hooper BSc, MSc, PhD is part of the Centre for Aviation, Transport and the Environment at Manchester Metropolitan University where he provides research, training and consultancy services to the aviation industry on stakeholder engagement, noise communication, corporate responsibility, sustainability reporting and carbon management and accounting. Commercial clients include; the International Air Transport Association, the Airports Council International, Heathrow Airport Ltd., Transport for London, Belfast City Airport and Manchester Airports Group. Most recently he has been working with 29 European partners on the EU H2020 project Aviation Noise Impact Management through Novel Approaches, designed to inform more effective mitigation strategies

Arlene A. Juracek
Mayor, Village of Mount Prospect, Illinois
Mrs. Juracek is the Mayor, Village of Mount Prospect, Illinois, 2013 - present; she previously served six years as an elected Village Trustee. She is a highly regarded executive and civic leader with broad-based experience in the electric utility industry, local government and social service delivery and governance. Chair of the O’Hare Noise Compatibility Commission 2015-present.
Retired in June 2007 as Vice President, Energy Acquisition, Commonwealth Edison Company, a business unit of Exelon Corporation, after a 34+year career. She played a key role in negotiating and drafting Illinois’ comprehensive Customer Choice and Rate Relief Law of 1997. Served as Acting Director of the Illinois Power Agency from October 2011 to March 2013, where she was responsible for power and energy procurement and planning for the state’s two major electric utilities, ComEd and Ameren.
Other responsibilities include appointment to the Illinois Finance Authority Board September 2015-present, Chair of the Northwest Suburban Municipal Joint Action Water Agency, President of the Northwest Municipal Conference 2018-2019 and Co-chair of its Legislative Committee.

Rebecca MacPherson
FAA Regional Administrator, Federal Aviation Administration
Rebecca MacPherson is the FAA Regional Administrator for the Great Lakes Region. She was appointed on January 8, 2018. As Regional Administrator, MacPherson serves as the principal executive representative of the FAA Administrator in the region, providing corporate leadership in the cross-organizational matters and represents the FAA with industry, the public and governmental organizations. The Great Lakes Region encompasses the geographical area of Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota.

Tami McCrossen
Chief of Airport Planning, Los Angeles World Airport
Ms. McCrossen-Orr is the Director of Environmental Sustainability and Compliance for Los Angeles World Airports – owner and operator of Los Angeles International Airport, Van Nuys general aviation airport, and LAWA’s landholdings in Palmdale. Ms. McCrossen-Orr has worked at LAWA since 2014. Under Ms. McCrossen-Orr, LAWA’s sustainability program has achieved Airport Carbon Accreditation for both LAX and VNY airports, launched the Ground Support Equipment Emissions Reduction Program, revamped LAX’s Alternative Fuel Vehicle Program and recently released the Sustainability Action Plan for LAWA, Boldly Moving to Zero. Prior to LAWA, Ms. McCrossen-Orr practiced law in the Los Angeles area with a focus on litigation.

Janet McEneaney is an attorney and long-time civic activist in New York City. in 2012, she founded and is currently President of Queens Quiet Skies, an aviation-focused community advocacy group. Janet was a founding member of the Quiet Skies Conference, a national organization for community advocacy groups. She serves as the Legislative Chair of the Quiet Skies Conference.
Matt Metcalfe
Managing Director, Deloitte
Matt Metcalfe is a Managing Director in Deloitte’s Strategy and Analytics practice with 18 years of experience working on issues related to the integration of emerging aviation technologies from Performance Based Navigation to Urban Air Mobility (UAM). Matt leads Deloitte’s support to NASAs UAM Community Concept of Operations and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) UAS Integration Office. He served as the senior technical lead to NASAs UAM market viability study and leads several state and commercial UAS/UAM efforts. Community acceptance, including environmental issues, are central to each of these efforts that have included broad ecosystem engagement. Throughout his carrier Matt has worked extensively on environmental and community acceptance issues related to aviation including community engagement guidance and approaches for the FAA and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

Melinda Pagliarello
Senior Director, Environmental Affairs, Airports Council International - North America
Melinda Pagliarello is Senior Director, Environmental Affairs at ACI-NA. In this role, she has primary responsibility for ACI-NA's activities in aviation environmental matters and sustainability. She monitors and reports on international and federal agency actions, programs, requirements, research and regulations affecting environmental matters for airports and aviation at North American airports.
Specific areas of focus within Melinda’s portfolio include airport noise; land use policies; air and water quality, airport sustainability initiatives; wildlife and natural resources management; and the range of environmental regulations, policies, and procedures that affect airports in the U.S. and Canada.
Melinda has approximately 15 years of experience in the airport industry. Prior to joining ACI-NA in 2017, she worked for several consulting firms including Booz Allen Hamilton, LeighFisher, PBS&J, and Landrum & Brown. Her varied background includes work in strategic/ business planning, land use planning, financial feasibility studies, benefit-cost analyses, as well as environmental and master planning. She has worked with a range of clients at the federal (FAA and TSA) and state/local levels, from large hubs to general aviation airports.
Junenette Peters
Assistant Professor, Boston University School of Public Health
Dr. Junenette Peters is an Assistant Professor at the Boston University School of Public Health. She received a Bachelors’ degree in Political Science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Masters’ degrees from Boston University in Energy and Environmental Studies and in Geology, and a Doctorate degree in Environmental Health from Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health. Her research has focused on the effects of environmental pollutants on cardiovascular disease and cognitive impairment in older adults and on respiratory disease in children. Dr. Peters is leading research efforts funded by the National Institutes of Health and the Federal Aviation Administration investigating the effects of aircraft noise exposure on cardiovascular health in multiple large national cohorts.

Dahlia Pham
Associate Mechanical/Aerospace Engineer, AMPAIRE
Dahlia Pham is an Associate Mechanical/Aerospace Engineer at Ampaire, Inc. who graduated with two B.S. degrees in mechanical and aerospace engineering from University of California, Davis in 2019. With an a strong interest for vehicle design and sustainability along with a lifelong love of aeronautics, Dahlia was previously a mechanical design intern at Tesla and now works as full-time engineer on the vehicle engineering team at Ampaire since July, supporting the flight test program. As an undergraduate at UC Davis, Dahlia was the team captain for the first place U.S. team for the 2018-2019 NASA/DLR Aeronautics University Design Challenge, participated in research pertaining to vehicle design and computational aerodynamics, and was an officer for the university AIAA branch. Dennis Probst
Vice President and Chief Development Officer, San Diego International Airport
Dennis Probst is the Vice President and Chief Development Officer for the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority. While Probst oversees all aspects of capital improvements and facilities development at San Diego International Airport (SAN), he also provides executive leadership for the Airport’s award-winning environmental programs, including ones related to aircraft noise and air quality. Major current initiatives under Probst’s purview include aircraft flight procedures analyses, noise compatibility planning, airside equipment electrification, and sustainable aviation fuel advocacy. Probst came to the Airport Authority in December 2017 from the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC), where he most recently served as Chief Operating Officer. In that role, he was also responsible for airport planning and environmental activities at Minneapolis-St. Paul International (MSP) and six general aviation airports in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. His notable accomplishments there included creation of MAC’s first formal sustainability plan and installation of the largest structural solar energy generation system in Minnesota. Mr. Probst holds a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering, a bachelor of arts architecture degree, and a master of architecture degree from Iowa State University.

Ralph Redman
Manager of Airport Planning, San Diego County Regional Airport Authority
Ralph Redman is a Manager of Airport Planning with the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority (Authority). In his role, Ralph’s main responsibilities include managing projects related to the planning of airport facilities (both airside and landside) at San Diego International Airport (SAN). In addition, Ralph oversees the efforts associated with the Authority’s role as the Airport Land Use Commission for San Diego County and assists with long-term regional air transportation planning.
Recently, Ralph oversaw the development of the Climate Resilience Plan (CRP) for SAN, which provides a strategy for addressing the potential impacts of climate change on airport operations. Since its development, he continues to play an active role in climate resiliency planning and represents the Authority in coordination efforts with other local and regional agencies.
After graduating from The Ohio State University, Ralph began working in the aviation industry as a consultant supporting airports across the country address noise and air quality concerns. Over the sixteen years working as an aviation consultant, Ralph’s role expanded beyond environmental related issues to include the management of airport master planning and sustainability projects.

Brendan Reed

Brendan is the Director of Planning & Environmental Affairs for the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, which owns and operates the San Diego International Airport. As part of the Airport’s Development Division leadership team, he is responsible for guiding the organization’s policies concerning airport land use compatibility and master planning, corporate sustainability, and environmental compliance. Brendan spearheads numerous enterprise-wide initiatives including the integration of sustainability principles into capital projects and business strategies, ongoing certification through the Airport Carbon Accreditation program, and coordination with federal and state regulatory agencies. He also represents the Airport Authority on numerous regional and industry committees, including the San Diego Association of Governments (Regional Energy Working Group), California Airports Council (Environmental Affairs Committee), and Airports Council International - North America (Environmental Affairs Committee - Chair). Mr. Reed received a Master of Science in Ecology from San Diego State University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Richmond. His professional certifications include being a LEED Accredited Professional and a Certified Energy Manager.

Dirk Schreckenberg is Managing Partner and Senior Researcher at the Centre for Applied Psychology, Environmental and Social Research (ZEUS GmbH) in Hagen, Germany. He studied psychology and ergonomics at Ruhr-University Bochum, Germany and did his PhD in psychology at Technical University Darmstadt, Germany. His PhD thesis deals with a field study on aircraft noise, annoyance, and quality of life.
Dirk has been working in research projects in the fields of environmental noise impact assessment for more than 20 years. He has been engaged in several high-profile field studies, expertise and reviews on community response to environmental noise.
Since 2017, Dirk has been chair of Team 6 "Community response to noise" of the International Commission on Biological Effects of Noise (ICBEN) and member of the Noise Expert Group of the European Commission (DG Environment). Currently, Dirk is temporary adviser of the World Health Organization (WHO) concerning the implementation of the recently published WHO Environmental Noise Guidelines and member of the ICAO/CAEP WG1 (‘Aircraft noise’).
