Health & Safety Precautions
Updated February 15, 2023
Our UC Davis team is eager to see you in-person at the UC Davis Conference Center next May, however the health and safety of attendees and staff is the number one concern. We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic and recognize that this is a dynamic situation. We will continue to follow WHO, CDC, State and UC Davis guidelines for safely hosting events. We ask for your patience while we navigate these new paths, so that we can ensure attendees can come together again in-person safely.
While some states and countries are allowed to meet in-person with safety precautions in place, we understand that this is not the case across the globe. Therefore, the 2022 conference will be hosted as a hybrid event to accommodate those who are unable to attend in-person. All presentations will be live streamed for those attending virtually.
In-Person Attendees
All in-person symposium attendees are expected to adhere to and abide by all safety precautions in place to protect against the spread of COVID-19. Our multi-layered safety approach includes prevention, protection, and mitigation components.
- Prevention: We recommend that all in-person attendees stay current with COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters, however we will not be requiring proof of vaccination to attend.
- Protection: We recommend people wear a mask over their nose and mouth while indoors at all times except when actively eating or drinking to prevent the spread of COVID and other illnesses.
- Mitigation: We have a shared responsibility to help prevent the spread of COVID-19; therefore, we are asking each attendee to stay home from the conference if you are feeling unwell, or have felt unwell in the past 72 hours.
We will be relying on in-person attendees for personal accountability and self-compliance. Because we do not know each person's individual situation, we encourage everyone to keep space while talking and be understanding of the cautions that attendees will take for their personal safety. We appreciate your assistance as we work together to curb the spread and keep all attendees healthy.
Thank you in advance for behaving in a manner that will keep all attendees safe.
